Kevin assists a variety of
disputants in family matters as a family dispute resolution professional. The most
significant part of our family practice is in the area of separation and
divorce. Since the advent of the family
law act in British Columbia, disputants are encouraged to solve their family
matters outside of court if possible by utilizing the services of a family dispute
resolution professional
We are a full service, experienced and advanced comprehensive family mediation
firm, and as such we are able to assist participants in all aspects related to
their separation. These include all matters relating to the children, support
issues, and property matters. Whilst it's almost inevitable that couples
undergoing separation seek advice and support from friends and family, there is
no substitute for the impartial assistance of a trained professional,
experienced in Divorce and Separation matters.
It is our policy to make this process as time efficient, cost effective, and as
amiable as possible. Mediation has the added capacity to foster an
ongoing relationship between separating spouses that greatly eases the
transition for the children caught up in a divorce situation.
Typically the disputants and the Mediator meet together, however, if this
uncomfortable for the parties, we utilize “shuttle” mediation, whereby the
Mediator meets separately with the parties in order to assist in the agreement
making and to minimize potential conflict.

your children.
Often the biggest issue when navigating your way through the divorce process is
communicating rationally and productive with you soon to be ex-spouse. In
divorce mediation, you and your spouse meet with a neutral third party, the
mediator. The mediator ensures that communications are productive, focused, and
respectful so that issues are discussed and resolved in an amiable and timely
manner.
The most important items to be discussed when negotiating a divorce include but
are not limited to the following:
At Re:Solve Mediation, the participants with the assistance and involvement of an experienced family mediator negotiate their agreements in a relaxed, private environment with a focus on resolving all issues to each other’s satisfaction. The mediator's role is to encourage and retain open, respectful communications, assist in the creation of options, provide all the information that the parties require in order so they may make fully informed decisions, assist in providing objective criteria, encourage mutual empathy and assist the couple in their decision making process.
